Gurmeet Singh is a leading authority in the field of pneumonia, particularly severe community acquired pneumonia, with more than 15 years of experience in respirology and critical care medicine. His expertise also includes chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and lung cancer, as well as advanced interventional procedures such as bronchoscopy and medical thoracoscopy. He practices at both RSUPN Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo, Indonesia's National Hospital and MRCCC Siloam Semanggi (Mochtar Riady Comprehensive Cancer Center), one of Indonesia's premier cancer hospitals. Dr. Singh serves as the Head of the Respirology and Critical Illness Division at Universitas Indonesia and leads the Jakarta Branch of the Indonesian Respiratory Society. In addition to his clinical roles, he is a lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at Universitas Indonesia and he was recently promoted to Associate Professor in June 2025. He has authored numerous scientific publications and is a regular speaker at national and international forums. His previous book, Challenging Cases in Respirology and Critical Care (Springer Nature, 2025), showcases his case-based clinical approach.
