Alan Maimon is a journalist and an author. He previously managed the Eastern Kentucky bureau of the Louisville Courier-Journal, where he worked on a series about the state's criminal justice system that was a finalist for the 2004 Pulitzer Prize in Public Service. He started his professional writing career as a news assistant and sportswriter in the Berlin bureau of the New York Times. He lives in Las Vegas.
