This manual is the result of two observations: firstly, the absence of a practical, contextualized guide in tropical zones for the management of sickle cell crises in emergency situations; and secondly, the obvious gap between international recommendations and the realities on the ground, particularly in rural areas. It is aimed above all at healthcare professionals - doctors, nurses, technicians - who are confronted with these cases on a daily basis, often without sufficient resources.Far from proposing universal solutions, this book aims to offer a realistic and applicable framework, adapted to our healthcare system, our logistical constraints, and our communities. It emphasizes the medical emergency that each sickle cell crisis represents, and the importance of responding effectively, even in poorly medicalized environments.
