Living abroad or planning to move overseas? Then it's time to give your life all the attention it deserves.Because no one ever said living abroad was easy. Knowing that first you sink and then you swim.
Sue Schoormans, nee Luford, was born in the United Kingdom and, at the time of writing, has lived abroad for twenty-two years. She has over twenty-¿ve years' experience in Human Resources (HR).Covering the full realm of HR, from hiring to firing, Sue's forte has always been within recruitment. Coupled with working in positions and organisations not right for her, she developed a keen interest in and passion for ensuring people work where they blossom and shine. After leaving the corporate world, becoming a career coach was a natural next step. While studying for a master's degree in International HR and globalisation, she became a cross-cultural trainer. Merging her HR knowledge and experience with her intercultural knowledge and her living abroad experiences in the USA, Norway and the Netherlands, her understanding of compatibility broadened. Ensuring a level of compatibility between a person and their profession remained critically important, but now added to the mix was where a person was living - their host country. The person and their profession, the person and where they live - both are equally and critically important. Sue supports and assists expats, immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees, international students and repatriates with their forthcoming emigration or repatriation and with the inevitable changes they encounter abroad and back home. Having personally been hit by wave after wave of change in her own life, beginning with her parents' divorce at just three years old and more recently being diagnosed with metastasised breast cancer, she draws on her life's experiences, enabling others to live their best life abroad. Sink Then Swim encompasses many of these experiences.
