Wardy recently made two-thirds of a class cry, has just been given a final warning for teaching while drunk, received a rejection letter putting the kibosh on his plans to become an Army officer and his Spanish girlfriend has left him, without him realising it for an extraordinary six weeks. Can things get any worse? In fact, Wardy never wanted to enter the realm of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Like most things in life, he drifted into it as an easy option while he tried to decide what he really wanted to do. But now he's managed to David Blaine an attractive foreigner into becoming Mrs Wardy. He's decided to seek pastures new and emigrate. Can she help him bring some order to his chaotic "career", or will she be joining him under a bridge with her sleeping bag?
M C Ward (aka Wardy) was brought up in a small town in Dorset, and sometimes wishes he'd stayed there. Welsh on his mother's side, he cannot see a choir and resist the temptation to sing in it. After graduating from the University of Hull with a degree in Italian, he decided to do a TEFL course in the early nineties to "work with languages" and buy some time while he decided what he really wanted to do. Thirty years on, he is still unable to choose. He taught English in Bournemouth, Verona and Málaga before emigrating to Brazil in 2002, where he currently lives with his wife and two chins. Due to genetically-inherited procrastination, Sitting on a Horse Facing Backwards is his first book.
