Produktbeschreibung
This book scrutinizes the psychological interventions that have been used to address irregular sleep/wake patterns induced depression (IS/WPID) in working-class adults. Current research has found sleep deprivation is a significant cause of depression. Work life causes disturbed sleeping patterns in working professionals which becomes a root cause of depression requiring psychological intervention. This book analyzed the effectiveness of behavioral treatment therapy and CBT for the treatment of chronic insomnia and depression cases and suggests that it provides more effective results in comparison to a wide variety of different medical interventions. Other research studies have also indicated, the benefits of using CBT in the treatment of depression and the use of CBT for both depression and its side-product issue of insomnia, makes it a suitable treatment approach. Research has been conducted on depression and sleeping disorders in college students, and medical students because of their duties in a shift. However, future research may want to focus on depression and sleeping disorders in specific working professionals such as, law enforcement, fire, hospital workers etc.
