Sydney Smith is the winner of the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration 2024 and two Kate Greenaway Medals for Small in the City and Town is by the Sea written by Joanne Schwartz. He has also illustrated I Talk Like a River and My Baba's Garden, both by Jordan Scott; The White Cat and the Monk by Jo Ellen Bogart; Footpath Flowers by JonArno Lawson; and authorial picture book Do You Remember? His other accolades include two Governor General's Awards and four New York Times Best Illustrated Book of the Year citations. Sydney lives with his family in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
