Autorenporträt
Selim Gürgen, Ph.D.,  is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Eski¿ehir Osmangazi University (ESOGU), located in Eski¿ehir, Turkey. Additionally, he serves as the Director of Eski¿ehir Vocational School within ESOGU, and holds a position as an Executive Board Member of the Aerospace Technologies Research Center. Dr. Gürgen has participated in international projects and collaborations, including visits to the University of Wollongong in Australia and Central South University in China for projects on smart materials, and the University of Aveiro in Portugal for research on cork composites. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at a joint venture of KMWE-Dutch Aero. Throughout his career, Dr. Gürgen has contributed to various industrial and research projects in collaboration with organizations such as Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), Fiat Automotive Industry, and the Turkish Air Force. Funding for his projects has been provided by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜB¿TAK), the European Union (EU), and other local and international funders. He has a substantial publication record, with numerous articles in refereed international journals, as well as edited and authored books and book chapters.
