Adaptive Transparent Systems (ATS) represent an advanced and progressive category of building envelope technologies capable of dynamically responding to environmental variations. These systems adapt to changes in indoor and outdoor conditions in spontaneous, reversible, and real-time ways, thereby significantly enhancing both energy efficiency and user comfort. As global energy demands increase and sustainability becomes a critical design priority, ATS offer a promising pathway for reducing building operational loads while maintaining high levels of occupant well-being.This book provides a detailed and critical analysis of the smart materials commonly used in ATS, with the aim of establishing a performance-based preference order.
