Gary Robertson considers himself to be a therapist, meaning problem solver and agent for personal growth. After earning a B.A. in English from University of Colorado he was attracted to the mental health field via the side door of encounter groups and his first certification was Gestalt Facilitator in 1973 and then trained as a psychotherapist, which he considers more valuable than classroom psychology, which speaks to his search for practical applications rather than general theory. He taught psychology at Community Colleges of Denver, was co-therapist in general and high pathology groups in the Denver area, and was a Night Supervisor at a RCCF (Residential Child Care Facility).
Following a hiatus from the mental health field he became interested in the new field of Energy Psychology, training in four different techniques (EFT, TFT, BSFF, TAT). He found these methodologies highly effective, self-applicable, teachable and applicable to many different problems involving mental and physical health.
He formed a non-profit, Springs Foundation, in which to offer these services, along with the skill-sets of other practitioners in energy medicine. In addition to private practice he conducted workshops and seminars on a number of different applications for these methodologies. He has authored many articles and several books and been featured at regional health fairs before retiring (occasionally continuing to practice, as needed).
