He received the 2024 Charles Boelen International Award on Social Accountability. He serves on global advisory boards, influencing policy and advancing medical education worldwide. Mohamed Hassan Taha, MBBS, PhD, FAcadMEd, FAMEE, Mohamed Hassan Taha, MBBS, PhD, FAcadMEd, FAMEE, is a global leader, scholar and expert in social accountability, led programs and initiatives integrating medical education and healthcare systems regionally and globally, aiming at advancing education to enhance population health and strengthen health systems. He is a member of prominent international organizations. Charles Boelen, MD Charles Boelen worked at the World Health Organization for thirty years, developing initiatives to improve social relevance in health systems. He authored key WHO documents including Defining and Measuring the Social Accountability of Medical Schools, the Five-Star Doctor model, and Towards Unity for Health. He co-chaired the Global Consensus on Social Accountability of Medical Schools (2010) and is renowned as the guru of social accountability.
