This book provides an outline of the current practices in technology business incubators. It becomes apparent that a knowledge gap exists concerning the influence of technology in the practices of the incubator. The incubator research is also predominantly focused on the research based view. Based on these observations this research focuses on the role of the technology incubator in the commercialization of technology based products. A case study of a solar technology incubator and accelerator; Powerhouse (formally known as SfunCube), was used to investigate this using an inside-out approach. The practices of this incubator were distilled using the concepts of effectuation and causation. Furthermore, this incubator is analyzed using three dimensions: the organization, the product and the entrepreneur.
