In Something Like Whole, Rivera pieces together the beautiful, broken, and ordinary moments that shape a life. From the early loss of her father to the raw edges of motherhood, from mending her marriage, to social anxiety, and the wild freedom of her twenties spent abroad - these poems are a quiet reckoning with identity, grief, love, and healing. Rivera writes with unflinching honesty and tenderness, exploring what it means to lose parts of yourself and still keep growing. This is a debut that doesn't search for perfection - only truth, connection, and the courage to become whole.

Autorenporträt
Jordin Nikole Rivera is a mother of two, she writes between nap times and laundry loads. Her poems are confessions - about the beauty and brutality of motherhood, the ache of identity lost and found, and the joy that insists on blooming anyway. Born and raised in Texas, she lives in Austin with her husband, children, dogs, and a small flock of hens. Her days are full of small sticky hands, garden soil, and moments waiting to be turned into poems.
