Autorenporträt
Dr James Brockbank was a GP in a West London teaching practice for nearly 30 years. In addition to his frontline duties as a clinician he was heavily involved in GP Education and was a GP Trainer, Programme Director and Appraiser. His clinical interests included mental health and palliative care and for a period of time he was lead clinician at a children's hospice in addition to his duties as a GP.He also worked for The Helen Bamber Foundation a human rights charity supporting victims of torture and trafficking. He continues to be involved in global health, teaching doctors overseas on behalf of The Royal College of General Practitioners.Dr Brockbank is a member of The Society of Medical Writers (SOMW) which has been a platform for submitting writing including poetry for scrutiny and feedback. He completed a masters degree in Medical Humanities at King's College London and has been involved in teaching medical humanities to medical students and GPs in training.
