Erum Irshad ist Professorin und Leiterin der Klinik für Psychologie an der Fakultät für Psychologie der Universität Peshawar. Sie erwarb ihren Master-Abschluss in Psychologie mit Auszeichnung und erhielt eine Goldmedaille. Außerdem erhielt sie ein Postdoktorandenstipendium der Hochschulkommission. Dr. Irshad ist praktizierende klinische Psychologin.
