Sobol knew Greek and Latin languages and taught at the Kiev brotherly school. Printed books to Mogilyov, Kiev, in territory of present Belarus (Kutejno, Bujnichi) and Romania. Has founded some printing houses. In the last years of life was monk of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. For a long time the equipment and materials of Spiridon Sobol were successfully applied in many Ukrainian, Belarus, Russian and Romanian printing houses. Has published more than 20 editions. In 1631 he published the first ABC-book in Belarus.
