Anthony Hope was an English novelist, playwright, and short story writer, best known for his adventure and romance novels, particularly The Prisoner of Zenda (1894 Hope's early works, including The Prisoner of Zenda, were hugely popular and established him as a prominent writer of adventure fiction. His novel The Prisoner of Zenda became an iconic work of the adventure genre, featuring a story of political intrigue, mistaken identity, and daring escapades.
