Dave Russell is a scholar of the history of English popular culture. He is the author of the "Encyclopedia of British Football," ""the""award-winning "Football and the English," and "Looking North: England and the National Imagination." Stephen Wagg is a professor of sport and society. He is the author of "The Football World"; the coeditor of "Amateurism and British Sport," "British Football and Social Change," and "East Plays West"; and the editor of "British Football and Social Exclusion," "Cricket and National Identity in the Postcolonial Age," "Giving the Game Away," and "Key Concepts in Sports Studies."
