The book entitled 'Stability of performance in early to medium duration rice varieties along with marker validation for bacterial leaf blight and drought tolerance' was carried out at OUAT, Bhubaneswar and ICAR- NRRI, Cuttack during 2015-16 and 2016-17taking 30 rice genotypes. The major objectives of the study are: 1) To study the stability of yield performance across different environments, 2) To study the reaction of rice varieties to Streptomycin and dark treatment and compare with stability parameters, 3) To evaluate rice varieties for bacterial leaf blight resistance by field screening as…mehr

The major objectives of the study are: 1) To study the stability of yield performance across different environments, 2) To study the reaction of rice varieties to Streptomycin and dark treatment and compare with stability parameters, 3) To evaluate rice varieties for bacterial leaf blight resistance by field screening as well as laboratory studies, 4)To screen the rice genotypes for drought tolerance through field and molecular studies.Mandakini, Jogesh, Jyotirmayee,Sidhant, Lalat, Daya, Hiranmayee, Kharavela and MTU 1010 are giving stable yield performance along with resistance to BLB disease, whereas Vandana has stable yield performance in addition to drought tolerance. The rice varieties identified as BLBdisease resistant and drought tolerantalong with stable yield performance may be recommended to the farmers for general cultivation in BLB affected and drought prone areas, respectively.
