The old man frantically flailing his arms in the air as if chasing away the clouds. On closer approach, they hear him yelling, "Get out of here, devil. The Jersey Devil. The Jersey Devil." Already on the scene, BEANS' friends BOOGER AND VITO RUSAMANO assist the local police then a delayed BEANS arrives in time to gather the mysterious details.

AUTHOR Ali LaVecchia is the author of the MG (Middle Grade) Booger and Beans Mystery Series. Her debut novel The Case of the White Knight earned "5 Stars out of 5 Stars" on Good Reads and was followed by others in the series. These include Mystery at Mill Creek Bridge, A Zombie on Peacock Hill, A Treasure in Satan's Knoll, The Case of the Mascot's Missing Fire, Voices Beneath the Hidden Staircase, The Ghost on the Front Porch, The Secret in the Old Scrapbook, The Case of the Vanishing Mail, Bare Bones Beneath the Floorboards, and A Sneak Thief in the Shadows. For thirty-two years, Ali worked as a high school and middle school English teacher who also instructed Acting, Public Speaking, Creative Writing, and Film. She served as a department facilitator and Director of Curriculum and Instruction in New Jersey's public-school districts. After retiring from those responsibilities, Ali shifted her focus to graduate course instructor where she mentored student teachers in the field as well as the classrooms of Fairleigh Dickinson University. In 2022, her educational career finished, and she relocated to the Gulf Coast of Florida where she enjoys her complete retirement and only works on writing. >
