A thorough bibliographical review on the subject, including a brief explanation of the pathophysiology of burns, metabolic, circulatory, hormonal and immunological alterations, calculations of the surface area of the burn, types or etiology of burns, nutritional status, initial care, volume replacement and the essential care that the nursing team provides in these circumstances.
