In artistic sports such as rhythmic gymnastics, an intensive stretching programme is part of the warm-up routine. Even shortly before performing on the competition floor, RG gymnasts use stretching methods to prepare themselves for the physical demands of the sport. This has a significant positive or negative impact on performance in jumps and balance exercises. In order to optimise preparations shortly before competition, this study investigated the effect of different stretching methods on strength performance in jumps and balance exercises in rhythmic gymnastics.
