Air jet spinning is one of the yarn manufacturing technologies. The air jet spun yarn consists of a core of parallel fibers wrapped by surface fibers. Many research workers have carried out abundant work on one of the important structural characteristics called fiber migration of yarn. Fiber integration and nature of twisting determine to a large extent the structure of a spun yarn, therefore research work is aimed at analyzing fiber migration in air jet spun yarn by varying process parameters of air jet spinning machine. The measurement of fiber migration in air jet spun yarn was done with the help of the tracer fiber technique. The work reveals that the two-process parameters namely main draft and N1 pressure have influence on RMS deviation. Other migratory parameters are not affected by any other process parameters.
