The aim of this work is to transform a real pig's head in such a way that a human-like face is created and an embellishing distortion is achieved. The idea behind this is to create a transformation in which a dead animal's head is transformed into a human face, reaching the point where a facial expression can be recognised. The idea was that one can connect more directly with something human than with an animal, thus creating a kind of empathy. What interests me in relation to this artistic work is the distortion and modification of a being/identity, as well as the question of suspending the temporality of appearance, dissociation and reconnection of an individual to their own identity and environment, and the perception of the self.
