In developing countries, large sections of the population may be dependent on raw water for drinking purposes without any treatment and this water source can be polluted by various ways like chemicals, agricultural runoff and human and animal feces. In the present book Evaluation of Medicinal Plants Ocimum tenuiflorum Linn. (Tulsi), Syzygium aromaticum Linn. (Clove), Azadirachta indica A Juss. (Neem) and Aloe barbadensis Mill (Aloe) were studied as an antimicrobial agent for drinking water treatment. As the medicinal plant possesses antimicrobial properties and it was found that they are very useful in water treatment. It would be possible to develop an economical and environmental safe method for drinking water treatment. The book will be more helpful for researcher, students and for society.

La Dra. Sonal Goroba Chonde completó su doctorado en Ciencias Ambientales bajo la dirección del Prof. (Dr.) P. D. Raut en 2013 en la Universidad Shivaji de Kolhapur. Cuenta con 5 años de experiencia en la enseñanza de posgrado y 8 años de experiencia en investigación en el campo de la química ambiental. Actualmente trabaja como UGC Women PDF en la Universidad Shivaji de Kolhapur.
