Article 196 of the Federal Constitution states that health is everyone's right and the duty of the state, with guaranteed social and economic policies aimed at reducing the risk of disease and other illnesses and universal and equal access to actions and services for its promotion, protection and recovery. NR 04 establishes the obligation for public and private companies to organise and maintain Specialised Services in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine - SESMT, with the aim of promoting health and protecting the physical integrity of workers in their working environment. This work seeks to carry out a feasibility study on the implementation of the SESMT at the Technical and Scientific Institute of Expertise - ITEP/RN. The methodology used was bibliographical and exploratory research. In this context, it is concluded that it is very important for all workers to have a SESMT in order to guarantee compliance with safety legislation; as well as to ensure human life, a fundamental and primordial guarantee of our legal system. This work is therefore aimed at professionals and those interested in the field of occupational safety, as well as employees of public bodies.
