The implementation, operation and expansion of airports are considered activities that potentially cause major impacts on the environment and society. They trigger erosion processes, deforestation and damage to water bodies. Studies related to soil erosion and vegetation fragmentation are still scarce in airport environments. The aim of this study is therefore to identify, map and estimate the environmental impacts on native vegetation and soils in 2003, 2009 and 2013 at Brasília International Airport - Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek and its surroundings (2 km), a period in which many expansion works were carried out, in order to quantify and identify the main effects of the activity on the environment.
