The nutritional and health status of women is of great concern in the contemporary world, because the multiple roles played by women give rise to serious health and nutritional problems. The study was aimed at assessing the influence of nutrient intake on the nutritional status of child bearing women (16-35years) in Bali Nyonga village. A descriptive survey research design was used with a sample size of 40 women selected quotably from five quarters with the use of a structured closed-end semi quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Anthropometric data was collected to determine nutritional status based on body mass index (BMI), and energy was calculated from the protein, lipid and carbohydrate content of the food portion sizes. Only 2.5% of the women were found both to be undernourished and equally obese, while 47.5% of them had normal BMI status and were equally overweight. Average daily energy intake/person/day in kilocalories was found to be 2403.455 ± 436.6., and BMI 25.086 ± 3.363.
