The explosive second book in internationally bestselling author LJ Ross's DCI Ryan Mystery series, a moody, chilling mystery full of obsession, betrayal, and a history that won't stop repeating... The past won't stay buried for long... Detective Chief Inspector Ryan believes he has put his turbulent history behind him. Then, in the early hours of the summer solstice, the skeleton of a young woman is found inside the Roman Wall at Sycamore Gap. She has lain undiscovered for ten years and now it is Ryan's job to piece together her past. But after another body appears the same way as the first, enquiry lines begin to cross and merge, leaving Ryan questioning his own haunted past. Set amidst the rugged, ancient scenery of Hadrian's wall and infused with obsessive, cult-influence, this case might just be the one that finally forces Ryan to reckon with a past he though he buried long ago.
