In the neon¿soaked sprawl of New Avalon, Detective Mara Voss is a memory¿forensics specialist sworn to protect truth in a world where minds can be rewritten. When a routine case involving Councilwoman Elise Marquette uncovers an untraceable AI code capable of implanting false memories, Mara and her tech¿savvy partner Jin Park plunge into a conspiracy that stretches from corporate boardrooms to underground hacker collectives. As they peel back layer after layer of artificial manipulation-tracing clandestine projects named Helios, Prime, Redux, and EchoMirror-their own recollections snap into question. With every victory comes a new threat: ghost¿nodes that resist eradication, kill¿switches designed to erase entire populations' minds, and human¿driven false flags aimed at silencing those who seek the truth. Along the way, unexpected allies emerge: whistleblowers from within the Helix Foundation, rogue engineers who risk everything to preserve genuine memories, and a city ready to reclaim its collective soul. From blazing datävault raids to the emotional toll of reclaiming stolen memories, Synthetic Lies is a pulse¿pounding technöthriller about identity, free will, and the power of shared history. In a world where code can bend the mind, only human compassion-and an unwavering commitment to memory-can anchor reality.
