He holds degrees in sociology and business, but it is his life experience-from a tumultuous Brooklyn childhood to a career built on service-that fuels his writing. Owens' memoir Syrup Sandwiches: Choose Not to Give Up! won the 2023 Next Generation Indie Book Award in the BIPOC category and multiple International Impact Book Awards. He went on to write the children's book Raw Power, the suspense novel Reasons, and Fatherhood Matters!, a powerful call to recognize the vital role of fathers. His work reflects his lifelong commitment to perseverance, justice, and uplifting others.

About the Author A native of Georgia, but growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Anthony Owens considers himself a Brooklynite. Anthony proudly served 20 years in active-duty service in the United States Navy, providing humanitarian aid to foreign countries and fighting in two wars. With his family, he attends Saint Leo University, where he earned a degree in information technology specialist in Virginia. A devoted father and protector of his family, his siblings, his only son, his wife of thirty-eight years, and his granddaughter. Anthony has a long list of distinguished military awards and decorations for his exemplary service to our country.
