Autorenporträt
George E. Gordon Catlin (1896-1979), a triple prizeman at Oxford, was a professor of Politics at Cornell University for eleven years, and later a professor of Political Science and head of the Department of Economics and Political Science at McGill University. He held honorary lectureships at many institutions. With A.F. Bentley, the late Charles Merriam of Chicago, and Harold D. Lasswell of Yale, Professor Catlin was one of the pioneers in North America of the scientific study of politics. Still politically active up till his death, Professor Catlin lived mainly in England, and maintained an interest in developments in the field of study to which his lifework had been devoted.
