The primary purpose of this book is to examine the usefulness of authentic materials compared to traditional materials in classroom in the acquisition of listening skills. The study was carried out at a high school in Tirana. The study aims at proving the hypothesis that teaching listening through authentic materials, as an integrated source in foreign language syllabus, fosters the listening competence in foreign language acquisition compared to traditional classroom listening. This hypothesis is supported by four research questions. The study consists of two parts; an experiment and a two part questionnaire. Two groups of eight participants where subject to the study for one month. The data-collecting methods adapted both qualitative and quantitative methods (QUAL quan). The data collected through the questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS program (The statistical Package of Social Sciences). The results show that authentic materials enhance learners' listening skill. The findings also indicate that students feel more interested in and motivated when they work with authentic materials such as video clips and songs.
