The starting point for my research is the educational experience of young people taking the course at the CRC (Computer Refurbishment Center). I also propose an analysis of the emancipatory possibilities available to young people in professional and technical training at the CRC, a course offered by the Marist Social Center in Porto Alegre. My objective is to analyze the technical training process of young people at the CRC as a possibility for development, if the course points to paths of emancipation and the development of citizenship. Initially, a literature review was conducted in order to construct an operational concept of citizenship, emancipation, and fundamental rights, so that the students' conceptions of these categories could later be analyzed and observations made as to whether their actions are consistent with their statements, through interviews, informal conversations, and free observations. The Marist Social Center of Porto Alegre serves young people living in the northeastern region of Porto Alegre, in a suburb.
