"Consider your employment terminated." A masked killer strangles a reclusive musician with a computer cable, leaving behind a chilling clue: a "termination notice" that bears the letterhead of Taurus Studios. Adrian Pryce, the charismatic president of the video game giant, is the prime suspect. Tenacious detective Lucy Duvall is assigned to the case, but her Philadelphia PD colleagues are baffled by her unusually restrained approach. For Lucy, the investigation is personal. Years ago, Adrian saved her life - only to break her heart. As the so-called "Taurus Strangler" claims more lives, the evidence against Adrian piles up. With the body count rising, Lucy's history with the suspect threatens to derail her career. Caught in a web of deceit surrounding her ex-lover, she must unmask a diabolical killer before she becomes the next victim.
Andy Phillips was born in Oldham, England. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics and a BSc Joint Honours Maths/Physics degree. In a varied career, he has worked as a scientific researcher in the USA, a police intelligence analyst, a data analyst, and a higher education teacher. From a very young age, he became fascinated with strong female characters - whether good, evil, or somewhere in between - that appeared in action, science fiction, and thriller movies. His favourite era is 1990s direct-to-video, back when VHS tapes and rental stores were still a thing. Determined to tell stories of his own, he wrote five freeware interactive fiction games, and later founded the publishing imprint Action Girl Books. His novels deliver fast-paced tales of action, suspense, and danger, including multi-faceted plots, high-intensity scenes, and cinematic storytelling. He thrives on creating strong heroines and complex villainesses, often pitted against each other. Drawing inspiration from books, TV, and film, he hopes to inspire others to be creative, too.
