The process of occupying coastal spaces in Sergipe, as in Brazil, has intensified in recent decades as a result of the implementation of public policies aimed at housing and tourism, consolidated with the construction of infrastructures responsible for generating social contrasts and profound environmental impacts. Aracaju's coastal plain is characterised by environmental domains that are highly fragile to use and occupation, mainly because it is a recent natural environment that is constantly changing; for this reason, they are unconsolidated environmental domains, especially dune fields, coastal strands, mangroves, lagoons and river and marine terraces. The aim of this study was to engage in dialogue and present reflections based on an interdisciplinary approach, with assessments and technical contributions capable of outlining actions for the problems affecting the spatial dynamics of the coastal plain between the mouths of the Sergipe and Vaza Barris rivers.
