Improper management of the right to bail in criminal cases causes a direct justice impact on the community, the families and on the Government particularly the Prison sector. Every day, relatively large number of potentially innocent people and whose charges/allegations have not yet been proved by the Prosecutions beyond reasonable doubt before the court of law are generated in the prisons and police custody and other facilities around the world. All these posses violations of human rights for the accused persons. The present Book deals with the basic issues as indicated above, problems relating to criminal law and procedure of handling the accused's right to bail. It also intends to create awareness amongest the personnel involved in criminal law and procedures in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.

M. Ignatus Barongo est actuellement assistant de cours en droit à l'université St. Augustine de Tanzanie, centre de Mtwara. Il est avocat et enseigne le droit constitutionnel, le droit des droits de l'homme, le droit foncier, le droit international comparé, le droit de la responsabilité civile, la rédaction juridique et la pratique des tribunaux fictifs, la méthodologie de la recherche juridique, la jurisprudence et le droit international humanitaire.
