LK Menzies is a children's author who specializes in life lessons through the lives of animals. Her characters help explain in a language that children understand and can relate to. Many of her books have received the prestigious Mom's Choice Awards of Excellence. She wrote "JJ The All American Yorkie" stories around the life of her and her husband's own animals and all of her characters are based on their personal experiences. Her grandchildren have also appeared in many of her stories to teach the lesson.
