This book focuses on the designing of bow tie antenna structure and analyzing the effect of variation of gap between two triangles from microscale to nanoscale. Basically, bow tie structure at microscale is known as Microstrip Broadband Bow Tie Antenna (BBTA) and at nanoscale it is known as bow tie Nanoptenna. It is known as broadband because of its structure which consists of two triangular pieces of stiff wire or two triangular flat metal plates, arranged in the configuration of a bowtie, with the feed point at the gap between the apexes of the triangles, it is capable of transmitting and…mehr

It is known as broadband because of its structure which consists of two triangular pieces of stiff wire or two triangular flat metal plates, arranged in the configuration of a bowtie, with the feed point at the gap between the apexes of the triangles, it is capable of transmitting and receiving broad range of frequencies and hence its name. Since, Microstrip antennas are generally popular for microwave frequencies but cannot be used for optical frequencies because of its huge amount of losses. Therefore, nano bow tie antenna is designed for communication purposes at optical frequencies and thus named bow tie 'Nanoptenna'.
