One of the most difficult sections of the Bible is found in the middle chapters of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. It is here that John receives an entirely new and distinct commission from both the Father in Heaven and Jesus as He stands in His place of dominion over creation. John is commanded to "Take" a book from Jesus' hand by the Father. A command confirmed by the Son of God, with the added command to "Eat" the Book - to become so familiar with it that it becomes a part of John's understanding of the promises of God. And then together they commission John to "prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and languages and kings." AND SO JOHN DOES! But his act of prophesying is often missed and more often misunderstood. What was this book that Jesus held? What was the vow that Jesus made in the Name of the Father and Creator which introduced John to the book? In the History of Mankind, was there ever anything like this book? For these answers we must look to Daniel. Daniel lived over seventy years in a pagan nation serving idolatrous kings. In that captive state the Lord God reveals to Daniel the history of the kingdoms of Man yet to come and the culmination of the coming of the King of kings at the Time Appointed, the end of days.
