Therapeutic patient education (TPE) for patients treated with VKAs has made it possible to improve the safety and efficiency of this treatment by establishing a new doctor-patient relationship. The aim of our study was to assess the impact of an ETP program on the management of patients treated with VKAs.We conducted a comparative prospective interventional study between January and September 2020, including 60 patients. After three months, we observed a more marked improvement in the knowledge score, a better level of therapeutic compliance and a significantly higher TTR in group G1 (p<0.001), and a higher number of hemorrhagic and thrombo-embolic complications in group G2. The implementation of an ETP practice among patients treated with VKAs has enabled an improvement in the patients' level of knowledge, with greater involvement in management. This practice needs to be codified by drawing up a national FTE reference document.
