Imagine yourself so broken as a person that death no longer means the final end of life, but rather a merciful reprieve, the final option that appears as the only way out of a lifetime of pain, isolation, and loneliness. Imagine yourself so broken as a person that death no longer means the final end of life, but rather a merciful reprieve, the final option that appears as the only way out of a lifetime of pain, isolation, and loneliness. And then imagine you fail in your attempt to take that exit. Dr. David Keating, genius geneticist and biochemist has done just that - but upon his return to the conscious world he considers another alternative: Fixing himself through the sciences he has pioneered throughout his life. But in performing his radical self-experimentation, Keating has done far more than just repair his tragic afflictions; he has both cast himself into a netherworld while unlocking what could very well be the next stage of human evolution - THE ASCENDANT.
Autorenporträt
w.p. Quigley, he's the man with the name that you'd love to touch, BUT YOU MUSN'T TOOOOUUUUCHHHHH. No but seriously, he's 47, lives in Framingham with his cat "Big" Al, and writes some pretty off-the-wall stuff, such as his 2022 anthology "ChaoS/HeaveN" and his contributions to the magazine he started, DOUBLE FEATURE, feature a fictional version of a child-like psychic who gets Armageddon correct, a New Years' Eve party with a double digit body count, and a story with a scene nicknamed "the stick measuring contest". He is also the founder and director of Ascendent Publishing, and a biopharma R and D supervisor. Someday he hopes to climb the slopes of Mount Erebus in Antarctica, and disappear forever.
