Definitely a standout among modern thrillers (Cristian Sia - Goodreads) ***** Cleverly crafted thriller: The setting is finely drawn, with imagery that arrests the imagination and gives a sense of place. I found this to be deeply satisfying (The Serial Reader - Amazon) ***** The Bank explores themes of trust, morality, and the impact of corporate responsibility on individual lives. ... Verbeek writes in gorgeous prose and features unforgettable characters in this richly drawn, perfectly paced thriller. (Jeff Klune - Book Commentary) Power. Corruption. Revenge. When money is the weapon, no one is safe. In the corridors of international finance, secrets buy silence-and silence kills. When Saskia van Essen uncovers a trail of corruption that leads from boardrooms to the street, she is thrust into a deadly game where betrayal comes cheaper than loyalty. Fast-paced, gripping, and disturbingly relevant, The Bank exposes the razor's edge where political power and financial greed collide.
