Zeke Luff's about to transfer out. Luff, a weed-smoking skater, can't wait to leave, but he's ordered to babysit Song because she complained about the unit to her mainland bosses. No leads. Scattered evidence. Yet Song must close the case to save her career although Luff says they're wasting their time without database access. They squabble via their translation chips - Luff furious to lose his transfer, Song outraged by departmental failures. Somehow, though, this crime's becoming personal as they're both burning to get justice for the victim. That won't be easy because they're up against pure evil, and - most chilling of all - that evil could be beyond the reach of the law.
Autorenporträt
Paul is a course director at a central Seoul university. He was an editor at Drugstore Books and lives with his wife in Seoul. Paul follows Tottenham Hotspur (mostly through his fingers) and has published several short stories (all through Drugstore Books). His reading taste is eclectic, his bookshelves stacked with great writing from around the world. In his own work, classic noir and magical realism are constant inspirations, although he loves most crime fiction, well-drawn characters, and alternate worlds, exploring the latter by drawing on the weird and wonderful aspects of his daily life, both real and imagined. The Blowfish Detachment is his first novel.
