The Bright Highway is an action-packed sci-fi adventure exploring tribalism, identity, and the darkening effects of an ever-advancing technological state. Through the misguided eyes of Emmett Hayes, you will suffer loss, discover strength, and learn to shine. More than thirty years have passed since the first Luminarans arrived on Earth. They are a mysterious species of psychic refugees arriving from an unseen, distant world. For years, they were studied and admired. Now, in the wake of the catastrophic Chicago Storm, they are feared, despised, and hunted. Former Orbital Patrolman, Emmett Hayes, is tasked with the latter. He's an Old Dallas soldier with a special hatred for the reachers (a common slur), making him more than happy to participate in their total expulsion from the Earth. However, along the course of this galactic genocide, he may be fated to discover a brighter love than he's ever known.
Nick is a Southern California native and UC Irvine graduate (Zot Zot!). Additionally, his new sci-fi novel, THE BRIGHT HIGHWAY, was recognized by the Launch Pad Prose competition and will be available for sale June 17, 2025. In recent years, Nick has worked in post-production, delivering films and TV series for CBS, HBO, Netflix, and Sony Pictures, including Mark Wahlberg's FATHER STU, a film which includes additional cinematography by Nick. His love for filmmaking and photography have heavily influenced his approach to writing books, and his cherished friends, family, and mentors continue to make his world extremely bright.
