Poetry. African American Studies. THE CAFE AT LIGHT is a collection of poetry and prose pieces "that moves musically, and with rapidity and insight"--Susan Stewart. The author of MOTH-WINGS, The Blaze of Poui, and The Black Reeds, Mark McMorris was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. His work draws from multiple cultural backgrounds that lend him "a poetic voice that is at once deeply engaged in an English poetic tradition, but not afraid to trouble the terms of its extended contract"--Publishers Weekly.
