Autorenporträt

Jack London (1876-1916), who grew up in extreme poverty, was one of the first to set off for the Yukon River during the Gold Rush. He wrote about his experiences, including his time as a factory worker, sailor and tramp, in numerous novels that illustrate the life of the working class and came to be regarded as the finest works of American literature.
