September Reed was born with a passion for color and creative expression. Her career turned a new corner when one day, out of curiosity and admiration for the art form, she began learning about henna body art (or Mehndi art). As she honed her drawing skills within this fascinating medium, she found herself especially drawn to mandala designs. Inspired by other Mehndi artists, she began using the same cones that she used for applying henna to skin to apply paint to canvas. Custom requests for mandala paintings led to an exponential growth and development in September's art. Her favorite part of painting and drawing mandalas became the texture and delightful details that emerge from her paint cones. She uses acrylic paints of varying viscosity and finishes to bring luminescent light into her originals. To connect with her audience, September started creating coloring pages and books based on her mandala paintings. This allowed her to share her passion while also encouraging her supporters to spent time exploring creativity for themselves. She lives in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
