Debbie Compton is a three-time primary caregiver for parents with different forms of dementia. She cared for her Dad with Parkinson's until he passed in his home and her mother-in-law with Alzheimer's until she passed in Debbie and her husband's home. Debbie's Mom, who was the first to get dementia, was also the last of the three to go to heaven, leaving this past September. Her sweet Mom battled vascular dementia for 21 years! Debbie speaks on caregiver and dementia issues from first-hand experience and professional training. She brings encouragement, hope, and laughter to an often stressful caregiver journey.Mrs. Compton has been a Community Educator for the Alzheimer's Association since 2017. She is also a Certified Caregiver Consultant and Advocate. She founded The Purple Vine, which aims to empower caregivers to reduce stress, block burnout, and learn to laugh again. Besides playing with her grandbabies, Debbie's favorite thing is educating others through Zoom chats. She will have you laughing as you learn.
