- A GLOBE-TROTTING MYSTERY & ADVENTURE SERIES - Join the 14-year-old Wentworth triplets as they travel the world with their father-a pilot and nature documentary filmmaker-and solve the bewildering and dangerous mysteries that inevitably arise. Each volume in the three-book Wentworth Mystery Series for Young Teens contains two complete stories full of adventure, danger, and mystery that tests the bonds and faith of this wholesome family. - JOURNEY WITH THE WENTWORTH TRIPLETS TO AFRICA, AUSTRALIA, MEXICO, PERU, AND THE USA - - VOLUME 2 ANTHOLOGY - The Case of the Bungling Boat (Mystery 1) A river ride on a barge should be as safe as a ride on a carousel... shouldn't it? Of course, it might depend on what was swimming in the water. There might be something worse than a hungry crocodile. The Case of the Stolen Sister (Mystery 2) Who would think a sister could be swiped right out of her hotel and carried off at breakfast time, or how much trouble it would cause? Who could have guessed what her brothers would be asked to go through to get her back?
Joann was born in 1933 in the Arkansas mountains during the Great Depression, into the family of a pioneer minister. Fascinated with pencils and paper from an early age, she developed a love for reading and storytelling. Encouraged by her older sister, who aspired to be a teacher, Joann learned to read early, with her first book being an ABC book. Her limited access to books only fueled her imagination, leading her to create her own stories and rhymes.Growing up attending church regularly due to her father's ministry, Joann was exposed to many people and the values of hard-working settlers in the Midwest. These experiences deeply influenced her writing. Her work reflects the lives and attitudes of her childhood, enriched with imagination. She gravitated toward historical fiction, particularly stories from around 1900, inspired by her grandmother's tales and her own memories of a bygone era.
